# Add images and video to a clip

Lay a photo or a logo over a clip, cut away to a video of your own, put your brand's logo and text on a clip you already have, and take them off again.

The **Media** tab holds what you bring yourself: pictures over the clip, video clips of your own and your brand. Its intro and outro have [a guide of their own](https://www.snipri.com/docs/add-an-intro-and-outro).

## Add an image or a logo

1. Open **Media**, press **Image or logo** and choose the file. You can also drop an image straight on the video or on the timeline.
2. Drag the image on the video to place it, and pull its corner to resize it. **Width** sets its size exactly.
3. To change when it shows, open **Timeline & layers** under the video and drag the image's bar, or pull either end of the bar.

A clip takes up to 8 text layers of up to 120 characters each, and 4 images. An image can be PNG, JPEG or WebP, under 5 MB.

**Delete image** removes the selected image, and so does Delete on the keyboard.

## Add a video clip

A video clip of your own fills the frame for as long as it plays, under the captions, while the clip's own sound goes on. It is the way to show what the speaker is talking about.

1. Put the playhead where the video should start.
2. Open **Media**, press **Video clip** and choose the file, or drop the video on the video or at a moment on the timeline.
3. Drag its bar on the timeline to move it, and pull either end of the bar to change how much of it plays.

A video clip is an MP4 or WebM file of up to 100 MB.

A clip takes up to 3 video cuts, B-roll shots and video clips of your own together, and no two of them can play at the same moment.

When a new one would overlap another, the editor says so and asks for an empty moment on the timeline. **Remove video** takes the selected video clip off.

## Put your brand on a clip

A brand kit dresses the clips of each new job, and a clip you already have can take it in one press. **Brand**, in the **Media** tab, puts your brand's caption look on the clip, with its logo and its line of text over the whole clip. **Remove brand logo and text** takes the logo and the text off again.

If the clip is already holding as many text or image layers as it can, the editor asks you to remove one first. [Set up your brand kit](https://www.snipri.com/docs/set-up-your-brand-kit) covers what a kit holds.

## Save your edits

The pictures and videos wait until you press **Save changes**, and the clip renders again with them at no cost. [Add B-roll to a clip](https://www.snipri.com/docs/add-b-roll) covers stock footage, and [Edit a clip](https://www.snipri.com/docs/edit-a-clip) shows where every other tool is.
