The Wisecut alternative for clipping long recordings
Choose Snipri if what you need is clips from long recordings, from a plan that says how many recordings it covers.
Choose Wisecut if you also edit whole videos, cutting silences and adding music and subtitles, or want to schedule posts from its Social Hub.
Wisecut edits a video; Snipri finds the clips in it. Upload a long recording and get captioned vertical clips that stand on their own, from $29.90/month.
Your first 2 videos are free, up to 1 hour each. No credit card required.

Why choose Snipri over Wisecut
One real job: 7 clips kept from a 46-minute fireside chat
Clips from “Fireside Chat: Godot's Next Milestones” by Ben Vehling, Matt Ellis and Rémi Verschelde, GodotFest 2025 (media.ccc.de, CC BY 4.0), cut, reframed and captioned by Snipri, with the logos on the speakers' shirts painted out.
Clipping is the whole job
Wisecut's Highlights is one tool beside a full editor and Autopilot. In Snipri, finding the moments in a long recording is what every plan is for, as in the job pictured.

A plan that names what it covers
Wisecut counts credits per processed minute for its editor and Autopilot, and its pricing page does not say how many Highlights uses. Snipri's plans count videos: 10 a month on Starter, each up to 2 hours.

How Wisecut and Snipri work
Wisecut
Wisecut is a video editor first, with Highlights for clips and a Social Hub for posting.
1
Upload a file or paste a link into Highlights.
2
Wisecut finds standalone moments in the footage and turns each into a short video with subtitles and reframing.
3
Schedule them from the Social Hub, or open a video in the editor to cut silences and add music.
Upload the long recordings you were running through Highlights. Snipri counts each as one video, up to your plan's length.
What stays with Wisecut
Silence cuts, music beds and Autopilot edits of whole videos stay with Wisecut. Snipri makes clips, not full edits.
Wisecut: common questions
Does Wisecut find clips in long videos?
Yes, with Highlights, which finds standalone moments in long footage and turns each into a short video. Its pricing page does not say how many credits Highlights uses, so check before counting on a plan's credits for clipping.
Does Snipri cut silences from a whole video?
No. Snipri does not edit a full video: it picks clips from it, reframes them to 9:16 and captions them. Inside a clip you can trim the ends or split it in two, and a clip starts and ends on a complete thought.
Can I add music to a Snipri clip?
Yes. In the editor you can upload a music track (MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG, up to 50 MB), set its volume, start and fades, loop it to the end of the clip, and turn the original sound down.
Which free plan shows more of the product?
Wisecut's free plan gives 30 credits a month at 480p with no watermark and renews. Snipri's gives 2 videos of up to 1 hour each, once, at full size with a watermark. One lasts longer; the other shows the clips as paid plans make them.
