The Zubtitle alternative that finds the clips for you
Choose Snipri if your recordings run past 20 minutes, or you want the clips found for you rather than trimmed by hand.
Choose Zubtitle if your videos are already short and need captions, a headline and a progress bar, or you want caption files, 4K exports or 2 free videos every month.
Zubtitle captions a video you have already cut. Snipri finds the clips in a long recording first, then reframes and captions them, from $29.90/month.
Your first 2 videos are free, up to 1 hour each. No credit card required.

Why choose Snipri over Zubtitle
One real job: 7 clips kept from a 46-minute fireside chat
Clips from “Fireside Chat: Godot's Next Milestones” by Ben Vehling, Matt Ellis and Rémi Verschelde, GodotFest 2025 (media.ccc.de, CC BY 4.0), cut, reframed and captioned by Snipri, with the logos on the speakers' shirts painted out.
Clips found, not trimmed by hand
Zubtitle captions the video you upload, and you trim it yourself. Snipri reads the whole recording, up to 3 hours on Pro, and cuts out the moments that stand on their own, as in the job pictured.
This clip's scores from its job. The first three must reach 7.

Standalone7
Arc6
Quotability6
From “Find My * 101” by Henryk Plötz, 38C3 (CC BY 4.0, via media.ccc.de), cut, reframed and captioned by Snipri.
A reason behind every cut
Each clip Snipri keeps shows five scores, for hook, payoff, standalone sense, arc and quotability, so you can see why it starts and ends where it does before you post it.

Set your brand once
Zubtitle adds a headline, a logo and a progress bar to each video you caption. Snipri's brand kit holds your caption look, fonts, logo and handle, and every new clip arrives already wearing them.
When Zubtitle is the better fit
Your videos are already short and only need captions, a headline and a progress bar
You want caption files to download, as .srt or .txt
You want exports up to 4K on Guru
You want a free plan with 2 videos every month
How Zubtitle and Snipri work
Zubtitle
Zubtitle is built to turn talking videos into captioned social posts.
1
Upload a video under 20 minutes and 1 GB, as .mp4, .mov or .m4v.
2
Zubtitle captions it; you fix words and timing and add a headline, a logo and a progress bar.
3
Trim it, resize it to square, vertical or wide, and download the video or its .srt file.
Upload the whole recording instead of a trimmed part. Snipri finds the clips and captions them, and the recording counts as one video for each hour of it, rounded up.
What stays with Zubtitle
Caption files in .srt and .txt and the progress bar stay with Zubtitle. Snipri burns the captions into each clip.
Zubtitle: common questions
Does Zubtitle find clips in a long video?
Its site does not say it does. Zubtitle captions a video you upload, under 20 minutes and 1 GB, and you trim and resize it yourself. Snipri reads the whole recording and picks the clips for you.
Can Snipri export an SRT file?
No. Snipri burns the captions into the clip in the style you pick, and you can correct their words in the editor before you download. For a separate .srt file, Zubtitle is the better fit.
Can Snipri make square or landscape clips?
Yes. Clips come out vertical at 1080 by 1920, and in the editor you can switch any clip to square or landscape and move or zoom each view.
Does Snipri take videos over 20 minutes?
Yes. A recording can run up to 1 hour on Free, 2 hours on Starter and 3 hours on Pro and Scale, with uploads of up to 1 GB on Free, 3 GB on Starter and 10 GB on Pro and Scale. Snipri reads all of it and counts one video for each hour of it, rounded up.
Is Zubtitle's free plan like Snipri's?
Zubtitle's Bootstrapper gives 2 videos a month, at 720p and under 20 minutes each, captioned whole with a watermark. Snipri's free plan gives 2 videos once, up to 1 hour each, cut into clips at 1080 by 1920, with a watermark too.
