Edit the opening hook
The title card a clip opens on: turn it on or off before a job, rewrite its words, set how long it stays on screen and move it on the video.
On this page
The hook is a short title on screen as a clip starts, so a viewer knows in the first moment what the clip is about. It starts as the title Snipri wrote for the clip when it chose the moment.
Before a job
#In the Studio, the Captions card holds the Hook title switch, on unless you turn it off. It rides on the captions, so it is off while captions are off, and One clip jobs have no title to show.
Rewrite it
#Open the clip in the editor and choose Hook. With Hook title on:
- Type your own words in Hook text. The field starts with the title the card shows now.
- Under Hook length, set Seconds: how long the title stays on screen.
- Drag the card on the video to place it, and pull its corner to resize it.
The hook title takes up to 120 characters and stays on screen for 1 to 10 seconds.
Clearing Hook text brings back the title Snipri wrote. A clip that has no title of its own needs words in the field before the card can show.
When the switch is locked
#The hook cannot show with the captions at the top of the frame, where the card sits, or with the captions turned off. The switch says which it is: move the captions on Captions, or turn them on, and it unlocks.
Save your edits
#The new hook waits until you press Save changes. Change a clip's caption style covers the captions the hook rides on, and Edit a clip shows where every other tool is.
