Clip selection

When a video comes back with no clips

When no moment clears Snipri's bar, a job ends with no clips and offers the moments that came closest. How to make one into a clip, and what it counts.

On this page

Snipri would rather give you no clip than a weak one. When no moment in the part you kept clears the bar, the job finishes with no clips, and the video is not counted.

Every moment gets 5 scores out of 10: hook, payoff, standalone sense, arc and quotability. Hook, payoff and standalone sense are gates: a moment becomes a clip only when each of the three reaches 7. Moments that pass are ranked by hook and payoff, with the other three breaking ties.

See why a clip was chosen says what each of the scores measures.

The moments that came closest

#

The job still has something to show you. Its result in the Studio, and the video in My clips, list the moments that came closest, each with its place in the recording, its title and opening line, its scores, the gates it missed and the reason it was left out.

A near-miss is a moment that scored below 7 on hook, payoff or standalone sense, so Snipri left it out, but came closer than the rest.

Make one into a clip

#

Press Make this a clip on the moment you want. Snipri cuts, frames and captions it as it would a clip it chose, in the job's own caption look, without transcribing or selecting again. You can leave the page while it works, and the clip lands in My clips. If it fails, the button turns into Try again.

In Why this clip, a clip made this way says Your pick, because you chose it.

What it counts

#

Making the first near-miss into a clip counts the video the way a job with clips counts, one video for each hour of the part it read. Every near-miss you make into a clip after that, from the same video, is free. How videos are counted has the whole rule.

When none of them fits

#

The bar is the same for every recording, so one whose talk mostly leans on what came before it can come back with nothing that stands alone. For an upload, try another part of it with the timeframe, or set the kind of video yourself, since each kind is judged on what makes a strong moment in that format. A job that finds no clips again is not counted again.
